Back to Paradise: Lumenvo Revisits Puerto Princesa

Second time’s a charm!

Following the success of the Lumenvo leadership meeting in Puerto Princesa, our batch–Jeiel, Dianne, Jake, Freyr, Ford, Naz, and Earl–endured long hours of travel to set out for our Palawan adventure. This trip was another memorable experience filled with thrilling activities, delicious food, and camaraderie that only Lumenvo can foster.

Aboard the Boat: A Blend of Games, Karaoke, and Relaxation

During our stay, we stayed on David’s boat, which became our floating sanctuary. At first, the gentle rocking of the boat took some getting used to, with a few of us feeling dizzy. But as the day went on, the rhythm of the waves became a soothing backdrop to our activities.

We kept the energy high onboard with games that brought out everyone’s playful side. Karaoke sessions were a highlight, with each team member taking turns belting out their favorite tunes. Beers were passed around, and the atmosphere was enjoyable—a perfect blend of relaxation and team spirit.

“I got dizzy the first night, too, but I got used to the boat life. It’s really cold at night, but I enjoy spending time at the front part of the boat since it’s very easy to relax there in the evenings.”

– Freyr

Exploring Palawan: From the Underground River to Salakot Falls

Our Palawan adventure wouldn’t be complete without exploring some of the island’s most stunning natural wonders. While we had a blast snorkeling at Apo Island and off-roading in Rizal, Puerto Princesa was a whole new experience.

We started with the awe-inspiring Underground River, a UNESCO World Heritage site that left us all in awe of its majestic beauty. The experience was humbling and exhilarating—a reminder of our planet’s incredible landscapes. But for anyone visiting the Underground River: Beware of the monkeys!

“A mischievous monkey was sneaking our way, and as it came closer, I pushed Jake because I was afraid. But then it grabbed my Gatorade and went to the tree to drink it.”

– Dianne

We also wallowed in the serene beach in Napsan, where the crystal-clear waters and soft sand provided the perfect setting for a few hours of unwinding. But the highlight of our land-based adventures was Salakot Falls, where the team enjoyed the cool, refreshing waters after a short trek. The falls provided a much-needed break from the tropical heat, and the surrounding greenery made it feel like we had stepped into a hidden paradise.

Culinary Delights: From Boat Breakfasts to Tamilok

Food was another highlight of our trip, with each meal offering something new and delicious. Our boat life experience was complemented by a home-cooked breakfast that was as comforting as it was satisfying. Dinner takeouts on the boat allowed us to continue enjoying the beautiful surroundings while indulging in local flavors.

A standout moment was brunch at Lilim Cafe, where the relaxed atmosphere and delicious dishes provided the perfect start to our day. However, the most adventurous culinary experience was tasting the Tamilok delicacy at a restaurant near the Underground River. While only some were brave enough to try it, those who did found it to be a unique (and surprisingly tasty) experience that added to the authenticity of our Palawan adventure.

“In a restaurant near the port to the Underground River, we ate Tamilok! It was my first time trying it, and I had a blast because David tried it for the first time, too!”

– Jeiel

Tiki Bar Fun

No trip to Puerto Princesa would be complete without experiencing the local bar scene, and the Tiki Bar could not have been the perfect place for that. Our team made the most of the lively atmosphere, enjoying a hearty dinner while soaking in the tropical ambiance. Some of us couldn’t resist a few friendly rounds of billiards, sparking moments of lighthearted competition and plenty of laughter.

Wrapping Up an Unforgettable Trip

As our time in Puerto Princesa came to an end, the memories we made were more than just moments—they were bonds strengthened, experiences shared, and stories that will be recounted for years to come. From the Tiki Bar to the boat life and the Underground River to Salakot Falls, every part of this trip was a testament to the Lumenvo spirit of adventure and togetherness.

We left Palawan with full hearts, new friendships, and a deeper connection to both the island and each other. Thanks to David for hosting us, and here’s to the next Lumenvo adventure—wherever it may take us!
