Christmas at Lumenvo Is Sweeter the Second Time Around

Our Lumenvo Christmas party last year–our first ever–was amazing, but we took it up a notch in 2022. How? Beach. Games. Prizes. Face-to-face!

Yep, that’s right. In the flesh!

This year for our Christmas party, we traded our webcams, computers, and headphones for warm sands, crashing waves, and a front-row seat to breathtaking sunsets.

Blessed with less strict travel restrictions, we rendezvoused at KooKoo’s Nest, one of the beautiful places in Dumaguete, Philippines, with a handful of us flying down from Manila and the US (Big shoutout to David)!

In paradise, we got to see and be with the entire team in person. And you bet we made our three days together simply unforgettable.

What’s a Party Without Games and Prizes?

We had prepared at least one game to test our wits, creativity, and how well we worked together. After all, what is a Christmas party without games, prizes, raffles, and gifts?

Not limited by screens or erratic internet connection, we played games for hours and tried our best to win prizes, including wireless mice, handheld game consoles, and Bluetooth karaoke!

We exhausted our brains in several rounds of Pictionary and charades and struggled to play Read My Lips and Riff Off. And if we learned anything from playing Fake News, it would be not to believe second-hand info so easily.

We also played a few drinking games, and some of us had to drink from the King’s Cup or be punished by having our faces covered with flour.

But win or lose, we all gave our best and had a blast playing with each other, especially with David. (Watch out for the video of David trying Filipino snacks!)

Of course, we had time for our Secret Santa and Raffle Cups too! Like last year, we received a gift from our wishlist and won more prizes, including paid leaves. Yes, paid leeeeaaaaves!

A Memorable Quick Getaway to Apo Island

As if the towering trees and scenic view of the beach were not enough, we went aboard a boat and traveled to Apo Island!

Big waves rocked our boat and splashed from all sides as we cut through the seas for what seemed like an hour. But all was worth it as we reached another paradise and braced ourselves for more adventures.

Some of us snorkeled for the first time, but the corals extending in the expanse of the sea were enough to wash their worries away. We got up close and personal with a few turtles snacking on seaweed and fish swimming above the corals. A few of us also spotted and avoided a rather poisonous sea snake from a distance!

Following a sumptuous feast on the boat and just in time before we left the island, the adventurous bunch also hopped on the kayak and paddled through the water, not minding the scorching sun.

Impressive Christmas Party Unlocked!

Our Lumenvo Christmas Party 2022 was definitely on another level! We’re so glad and thankful to have had this opportunity to spend a fantastic weekend with the entire team in person, and it makes us all think about what next year’s party would be like.

But of course, all of these would not have been possible had it not been for David, Febby, Adele, Jeiel, and everyone who helped, showed up, and made the second Christmas at Lumenvo more remarkable than ever.
