2025 Graphic Design Trends Your Audiences Will Love

Transform your brand aesthetics this year!

Graphic design is an ever-changing canvas. This year, it’s shaping up to be a creative mix of handmade aesthetics, future-inspired visuals, and unapologetically raw designs. We’ve curated a list of design choices with our design team that we predict will dominate the marketing world. Ready to see the 2025 graphic design trends?

Generative Design

Whether you embrace it or despite it, AI graphic design is here to stay. But before dismissing generative design as lifeless or unoriginal, consider this thought: the true power of AI lies in how we choose to use it.

This year, expect to see a combination of AI-generated illustrations, patterns, and human creativity, giving unexpected but dynamic and visually stunning designs. Big brands like Coca-Cola, Corona, and Nike have created advertisement campaigns using AI tools. More are likely to follow in the next months.

Generative masterpieces from Vizcom and Recraft

Midjourney, Adobe Firefly, and Recraft are some of the gen-AI tools designers can use to expedite their workflow. Even better, business owners with non-design backgrounds can use these tools to get their marketing campaigns rolling.

Y3K

Not to be confused with retro futurism, the Y3K aesthetic screams metallic colors and structured patterns that give a glimpse of what the future might look like.

Expect to see more holographic effects added to brand campaigns this year, along with iridescent colors. This style can also be related to generative design, as AI design tools are excellent for achieving the overall look and feel of Y3K.

Minimalist Maximalism

Maximalism was a big hit in 2023, but it will be a toned-down version of it that will likely take center stage this year. This complementary trend zooms in on the idea that opposites attract. It requires mastery of contrasting elements because when you find the right mix of minimalism and maximalism in designs, you create a powerful impact. Then, this effect generates interest without overwhelming or underwhelming the viewer.

Design creations that conform to this style incorporate bold typography and overlays. They also typically feature geometric patterns and shapes and a restricted color palette. The use of negative space is the crucial touch, as it ensures these visual elements do not clash.

Inclusive and Adaptive Design

Inclusive and adaptive design creates experiences that resonate with everyone. It embraces empathy and creates a sense of a community where the viewer feels valued, heard, and seen.

This design choice can positively impact brands. Search engines reward inclusivity with better visibility, encouraging websites to include alt text for images, meaningful link descriptions, and closed captions for videos. It also creates a ripple effect as more diverse audiences are drawn into these designs and, eventually, brands, potentially resulting in higher organic traffic.

Anti-design Design

Disrupting design conventions is the idea behind the anti-design approach. It disregards the rules and borrows elements from the style choices of the early internet and retro gaming. Charli_XCX’s album Brat best represents this aesthetic, ushering in a new term–bratification.

Micro Tutors

While not a visual design trend per se, micro tutors deliver fast, hyper-focused tutorials in under five minutes. They redefine how graphic designers or aspiring artists learn new skills, master techniques, and find inspiration. They usually share quick tips and instructions on design skills, software like Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, or even free design tools like Canva.

Handcrafted Design

The handmade design trend is returning amid the generative and mass-produced digital creations. It is the antidote to the seemingly mechanical design landscape, as it embraces imperfection and highlights the human touch.

Organic elements like textiles, beads, and raw materials are behind this aesthetic. The tangible details help tell stories and connect with the viewer, reminding everyone that there is beauty, meaning, and soul in imperfections.

Printmaking

Print culture is making a powerful comeback this year. It stands out as a celebration of the tactile and the unique, breathing life into DIY creativity and rekindling our love for the raw beauty of the handmade. Printmaking embodies the essence of handcrafted design, which is authentic, unfiltered, and personal.

Mixed Media

We’ve already seen combinations of various art forms in designs, and this trend appears to carry on in 2025. Adding digital techniques to painting, drawing, and even printmaking gives the design extra layers for the viewer to digest.

Sustainable Designs

This design choice features organic shapes, natural textures, and shades of Earth colors to emphasize the beauty of nature. It also uses minimal graphics and thin typography to reduce ink usage during printing, which helps conserve energy and materials.

This approach is perfect for brands aiming to inspire trust and mindfulness, and it’s a subtle way of inviting the viewer to slow down and appreciate the allure of simple living.
